Letter from the President
Welcome to Sigma Kappa at Northwest Missouri State! My name is Natalie Zook, and I am the Chapter President for the Kappa Alpha chapter of Sigma Kappa.
When I first came to college, I never thought I would join a sorority, and I certainly never thought I would become a Chapter President. As skeptical as I was, I let girls in my dorm convince me to go through formal recruitment freshman year. Little did I know, I was going to find my perfect home that weekend. The decision to join Sigma Kappa was the best decision I have made. I have been surrounded by loving, intelligent, driven, and positive women. These women have pushed me to step out of my comfort zone and lead, and they continue to make me the best possible version of myself.
When I joined Sigma Kappa, I did not realize that I was joining over 160,000 members from across the country. Although we attend different schools, have different backgrounds, and aspire for different things in life, we have something so special in common, we are all Sigma Kappas. We are united together by our four values that our founders developed- service, loyalty, friendship, and personal growth.
I love Sigma Kappa so much because of the women that I share it with. My sisters drag me out of bed to go to the gym, assist in jumping my car in the freezing weather, take me on ice-cream runs on the days where I just feel off, and support me in all my new adventures. They are the first people I tell my good news to, and they are my shoulder to cry on during the rough times too. Because of Sigma Kappa, I have become more confident, compassionate, and fearless.
I am so proud to be a Sigma Kappa, and I am honored to serve as the Kappa Alpha President. Feel free to explore our website some more, and I hope you get a glimpse of Greek life at Northwest!
