Letter from the President
My name is Lauryn Lee, and I am the 2021 Chapter President of the Sigma Kappa – Kappa Alpha chapter at Northwest Missouri State University.
I came to Northwest looking to become more educated and to grow myself as a person. I knew that in order to develop important leadership skills, I would have to look outside of the classroom. I decided to go through formal recruitment during my first semester at Northwest Missouri State. Little did I know, this was one of the best decisions that I could ever make during my time here at Northwest. I quickly found my home in Sigma Kappa. Greek life, especially Sigma Kappa, has brought me so many resources, connections, and loyal women who, regardless of various majors, backgrounds, and ages have supported me through both trials and success.
My time in Sigma Kappa has led me to a part of something that is bigger than myself. It has allowed me to grow as a person and spend time with women who share the same values of – service, loyalty, friendship, and personal growth. My sisters are the ones who help me study for a big test, don’t judge me when I dance around the house, and are the ones who comfort me when I’ve had a rough day. Over the past three years I have grown so much. have become a better leader, a more confident person, and a stronger woman. I have Sigma Kappa to thank for all of that.
I am truly proud to be a member of Sigma Kappa and to serve as the Kappa Alpha President. Continue to look around our website and get to know our chapter better!
